openAIP - Worldwide aviation database

openAIP has the goal to deliver free, current and precise navigational data to anyone. openAIP is a web-based crowd-sourced aeronautical information platform that allows registered users to add, edit and download aeronautical data in many common formats used in general aviation.
All available data is instantly shown on the openAIP map where you can take a peak at airports, airspaces, navigational aids, thermal hotspots and many other datasets.

Whether you are flying powered aircraft, gliders or paragliders, openAIP can provide data that serves many needs and fits any purpose. Additionally, openAIP provides the possibility to integrate into third-party desktop applications or mobile solutions. openAIP data can be downloaded free of charge for private use. Lots of hotspots for the Alps!
Yesterday we added lots of hotspots for the Alps to the openAIP database. This data was mainly created by a lot of members of the SFZ Königsdorf. We want to say 'thank you!' to all these people who contributed to this database and we deeply appreciate this generous offer to the soaring community....
New hotspots download files added!
We have finished work on the hotspot exporter and added the first files to the download section.The openAIP hotspots database will be exported daily and is available as .aip, .dat and .cup files.
How to add and delete airports
Currently adding and deleting airports is disabled. The main reason for this is that we would like to get an idea of how people treat data on openAIP before we enable this feature in the near future. Bug fixes and new content type "navaid"
In the last weeks we fixed several bugs and improved the stability of the openAIP backend. Also, we added a new content type "navaid" to the openAIP which lets you create and add a radionavigational aid to the map. Feel free to test, edit and add new content to the map!
